Meet the Generation 17

Generation 17
Generation17 leverages the collective strength of Samsung and UNDP to galvanize an entire generation of young people to achieve the 17 Global Goals by 2030. Since its launch in October 2020, the initiative has elevated the stories and impactful work of eight Young Leaders who are already making considerable strides in support of the Global Goals. They are Máximo, Shomy, Sadya, Tafara, Daniel, Nadine, Yejin and Yurii. Watch Sadya Touré share her story of women empowerment in Mali, and Tafara Makaza describe his journey to innovate transportation in Zimbabwe.

A special, first of its kind programme, created by the United Nations on its 75th Anniversary and to mark 5 years since the adoption of the SDGs. In the midst of a pandemic radically transforming our world, “Nations United” will tell the story of the world as it is, as it was, and as it could be. It will take the audience on a dynamic exploration of the times we live in, the multiple tipping points our planet faces, and the interventions that could transform our world over the next 10 years. Using some extraordinary communicators from around the world, “Nations United” presents the facts and data key to this transformation and the opportunities we have as a human family to reimagine and reshape the future.
