Domingo represents the shared dream of healthy and empathetic mobility for the city of Porto Alegre. To promote cycling, we explore the freedom sensation of a bike ride through an upbeat multisensory experience across the city’s beautiful landscapes. By researching the feelings and dreams of a diverse group of citizens, we were able to build on top of their common goal: creating a world where riding your bicycle is safe, joyful, and not only benefits your health and well being but also improves our overall sense of community towards a more sustainable and smarter world. Domingo is a part of Mobility 360º, a larger not-for-profit project initiated in 2019 that uses immersive media to promote empathy on traffic-related issues. After releasing in 2021, Domingo will be a part of the many life-saving workshops conducted by the renowned non-profit Thiago Gonzaga Foundation, a widely awarded NGO known for raising consciousness on traffic safety. The Virtual Reality production was made possible by the Global Shapers Porto Alegre Hub, which represents a global community of young leaders created by the World Economic Forum. For the past few years, it has been actively working towards developing immersive media experiences for the Sustainable Development Goals.
The 2021 selection of MY World 360º immersive experiences take viewers on a journey across the two sides of this Turning Point.
MY World 360º invites immersive creators – media pros and first time creators alike – to create media that allows us to experience a world turned around – a new reimagined world in which the SDGs are a reality- and that inspires people everywhere to take part in the bold and transformative action needed to solve the issues we face. MY World 360º is a collaboration among Digital Promise, Oculus from Facebook, and the UN SDG Action Campaign.
